Rubus villosus Blackberry

This is a vigorous growing plant producing an abundance of black berries produced on a thornless plant. They are swee when fully ripe, and could be a bit tart if picked too early or if still showing red. The fruit is beautiful eaten fresh or used for jams and baking.

Maturity: Late January to early February and may also have a small crop in April.

Self pollinating

Tree care: Plant in a well drained sunny position with well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until vine is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears in spring. Suitable to plant on a trellis or fence for supporrt. New canes produce season's fruit.

Position: Full sun
