Phaseolus vulgaris

Produces heavy, well-flavoured crops with long, fleshy pods. A dwarf variety that is virtually stringless and doesn't need staking, so you can grow it in pots where space is limited. An ideal bean for freezing. Half hardy annual.

Plant Height: 50-60cm

How To Grow
Sow these bean vegetable seeds 25mm (1in) deep in dark, damp soil and avoid watering for a day or two afterwards. ensure soil has been prepared with organic compost & well rotted manure.

Sow
7-10cm (3-4in) apart, allowing 50cm (20in) between rows. Ensure the danger of frosts has passed and protect plants from the wind.

Plant in 3-5 metre (10-16ft) rows and remove weeds regularly. Additional fertilising is not required as legumes produce their own nitrogen.

Regular harvesting will result in prolonged yields.
